What it involves

  • Small volumes are injected just under the skin or into soft tissue at selected points.
  • Preparations are chosen after consultation. They are given in the practice and never supplied for self-injection.
  • Sterile, single-use equipment is used for every injection.

Your consultation

  • A full consultation, including medical history, current medication and any allergies.
  • An explanation of the proposed preparation and injection sites, and the chance to ask questions before you agree.

What to expect

  • A brief sting with each injection. Some people notice mild tenderness, redness or swelling at the site for a short time.

Before you book: precautions

Please let Dr Patel know about the following. They do not always rule treatment out, but they help her keep you safe.

  • Tell Dr Patel about allergies, including any previous reactions to injections or ingredients.
  • Mention pregnancy, breastfeeding, bleeding disorders or blood-thinning medication.
  • Injection therapy is only given after an individual assessment and with your informed consent.

This information is general. Your suitability for any treatment is assessed individually at your consultation.
